Provides lists of and links to legal services programs and court-run legal assistance programs in many different legal subject areas.
California Courts Online Self-Help Center
Provides information on ways to find a lawyer and links to numerous self-help resources. Includes a Centro de Ayuda identifying self-help services in Spanish.
State Bar of California Certified Specialist Search
Offers a list of attorneys certified in 22 areas of legal practice by county. The State Bar of California certifies attorneys in 11 of these practice areas and recognizes the certification of five different national organizations in 11 others. Specialists must meet rigorous experience and knowledge standards.

Provides numerous free self-help resources, including videos and online guides to common legal procedures and topics.
PRO BONO LEGAL SERVICES
The following organizations provide legal services to the economically disadvantaged.
Provides legal assistance for low income people through the use of volunteers donating pro bono assistance and by educating clients about the law.
Legal Services of Northern California
Provides free civil representation to low-income clients in the areas of Housing, public benefits, Social Security, SSI, unemployment insurance benefits (UIB), and state disability insurance (SDI).
Community Legal Services, McGeorge School of Law
Provides assistance to community members facing legal challenges in the areas of Immigration, Bankruptcy and Elder & Health Law, who are unable to afford representation from private attorneys. Assistance is provided by law students supervised by practicing attorneys.

California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR) Lawyer Referral Ser – Provides referrals to attorneys on elder law issues.
California Indian Legal Services - Offers representation in cases that involve issues unique to Native Americans.
California Lawyers for the Arts Lawyer Referral and Inform - Offers referral services exclusively for creative artists, arts organizations, inventors, and those with arts-related legal matters.
Disability Rights California - Sacramento - Advocates for the rights of people with all types of disabilities.
Legal Aid At Work - Provides low-income and unemployed people with free, confidential information about their legal rights related to work in California.
Opening Doors Inc, Sacramento – Provides pro bono immigration legal services including Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Asylum, Removal Defense, T-Visa, U-Visa, VAWA, Family Petitions, DACA, Naturalization, and related services.
Public Counsel Federal Pro Se Project – Provides Information for persons representing themselves in federal court.
Sacramento LGBT Community Center - Advocates and supports individual community members who have been the victim of bias or hate related incidents. Offers free legal consultations twice monthly in partnership with Northern California Legal Services and the Family Justice Center.
